Putting on a charity golf tournament is a LOT of work…TOO much for one person. WAY too much. So…DON’T go it alone!
You don’t need dozens of people to help…not even a dozen. SIX is a great number…but honestly, anything over ONE is going to really help you produce a successful charity golf outing. A committee will get a lot more done in a lot less time than just you would…but only 100% of the time. Now…once you’ve brought a few folks onboard, it’s time to DELEGATE! Assign each person one or two tasks, such as 1) on course contests, 2) auction, 3) raffle, 4) volunteers, 5) golfers, 6) sponsors…just to name a few. And hold these folks accountable; have each report to the group how they’re progressing. You don’t have to meet daily, or even weekly…at least not until the big day draws nearer. Lastly…don’t be afraid to spend a few bucks to reward your committee members with something that honors their commitment, time and effort to the cause. It’s money well spent. So rustle up some friends and make life a little easier on yourself–there’s strength in numbers–especially when it comes to putting on a golf tournament.
